New 24-team keeper league

I knew better than to put myself in the middle of this but did it anyway, oh well...

calbatross- keep in mind that after round 1 there will be time limits, so you will either have to use proxy's or make all your picks within the time limit. I'm not trying to fan the flames here, just making you aware of the rules already stated by Turtle.

No problem, I understand that. no flames fanned! I am done with this subject until Turtle posts. I guess being reminded of the 30 minutes time limit to draft, it really won't make too much difference in the length of the draft if I use proxies or not. heh.

Completely off subject to the last couple posts but I was wondering I can't remember on what we decided for the length of the prospect draft and are this years draft picks eligible?

Prospect drafts:
1) There is 1 prospect draft during each year, including the 1st season.
2) The yearly prospect draft is 3 rounds and will be held immediately after our initial season's draft and after each FA draft the following season.
3) Only those players without MLB experience and signed prior to the start of that MLB season, are eligible for any prospect draft.
4) All prospect drafts are non-serpentine (except season 1), and draft order is based on the previous season's regular season records and determined by a lottery
5) Owners lose rights to all prospects that they release; Released prospects are eligible to be re-drafted.
6) 30-minute time slots shall be used for all drafts after the first round of all drafts.

1. Don't think Turtle ever made the final ruling on length of prospect draft, he was considering changes but nothing final

2. from page 1 of this thread- [quote:d4d89effb5]Only those players without MLB experience and signed prior to the start of that MLB season, are eligible for any prospect draft.

DROPS

Postby The Turtle » Sun Sep 04, 2011 2:10 am

All drops will have to be approved by me. That's it. And it won't be, oh I don't like the guy I proxied. You will have to have a legit reason for the drop -- such as I forgot to turn off my proxies and it picked while I was inputting them. And even if that happens the drop will come after your next round, allowing everyone to readjust proxy lists.

AS for the prospect draft. Year 1 is a two round draft.

Thereafter -- starting in April with the 2011 FA draft-- it will be a 3 round draft to allow less competitive teams more of an advantage to rebuild.

Question as we're about to start 2nd round. When the clock kicks in (1/2 hour per pick correct?), if you have proxy turned on will it make your pick immediately or at the end of 1/2 hour? Also, if you have proxy off, will it just skip your pick after 1/2 hour?

1. If you have proxy's on it will pick immediately
2. If off, you will be skipped when time is up, I [b:6669518aed]think[/b:6669518aed] that once you are skipped you can pick your skipped pick anytime-don't have to wait until you come back up.

[b:6669518aed]Turtle[/b:6669518aed]- when you get a chance you might want to change the subject line in the first post, it still reads "Smokey is Up"
