I really don't see what all of the backlash towards strat online is about lately. Sure the game engine is flawed (putting it lightly) but this game is great. I've been playing strat online for probably 7-8 years now and truly think it's better than ever.

Well isn't it??? We've gotten all the players we've asked for (except the notorious "Irish" Meusel and one of my faves Omar Vizquel ), all necessary game improvements, revamped and improved pricing scheme and more game modes than I know what to do with.

While I'll agree that the price isn't exactly recession friendly I KNOW that the the product we're being given is better than ever.

I don't know about you guys but I'll happily "drink the kool-aid" that TSN's giving us knowing that they can cancel this game of ours whenever they want.

Lastly, let's all thank Bernie for his hard work. I'm sure he's in a stressful situation and is making the most of it.

That all being said........ let's make this game better!!!

Although I still think it's a bit over-priced ($15 a game sounds right) it's still a great game with enough quirks to keep us guessing, which is what makes it addictive (btw, what recession? This is the new economic reality folks. Our country's best days have come and gone-no growth industries+international competition+corrupt political system = third world nation)

I fear your analysis is correct! Sad...

As for this game, despite its foibles, it remains compelling; if it were to disappear I would find it depressing. I do think - and hope - that an influx of cards and folks settling in after the holiday weekend might jump start increased activity.

Thankfully, our Nation has pulled through much tougher times by grace of optimists and those who would persist toward a vision of success. All too easy to just give in and fail--that is indeed self-fulfilling.

Geez--this is on par with 1982...and really, compared to the Depression, cuban missile crisis, civil rights strife, civil war, etc...this is not really anything new. It's cyclic and it's ephemeral.

Guys Im gonna agree and disagree:

Obviously I enjoy the game, so Im not advocating scrapping it- nor am i desirous of its disappearance.

HOWEVER:

How do you expect the game to continue to grow and get better without a serious push?
This is almost always the case unless you have a true, committed, almost fanatical driving force behind something.

Ive noted that new things rarely have come out until people clamour for them.
That goes for both Strat and, generally speaking with our country.
