Calling all Iron League, Avocado League, Justice League, etc

Well since you were planning one round a day anyway, can we do that with the live draft. I also cannot access the fantasy sites at work and proxies take the fun out of it.

Okay so I suppose we have 10 now, so 2 more to go. For us new expansion teams, what are the basics of this tournament?

BK will hopefully be returning. We'll see what's up w/ the Colonel. That would make twelve.

Rules:

AL/NL league w/ DH. Unique stadiums. $100MM salary cap. Live Snake draft of as yet unknown number of rounds.

Am I missing anything?

Okay, I know one manager (mhpine) who may be interested as an expansion team if needed. So the one pick per day for the live draft is okay?

I don't see how the one day per round draft would work on Penngray's site.

I'd like to try it sometime; it seems like it would be easier than having to monitor an ongoing draft in case your proxies run out, but I'm fine with using Penngray's site.

One big issue outstanding: What is the name of this year's league?

we're not SERIOUSLY considering one round per day draft are we? tws, like you, I love drafting, but THAT'S not what I consider drafting. i'd be up for anything from 26 rounds to 24, to all 25 and the stadium. but NOT over the course of two weeks or a month... :cry:

I'm not thrilled with the one pick a day, so put me in Meat's camp. If we have the PG site back, I think we should use it to the max. Of course, I haven't looked at the cards for a single instant yet, so maybe one a day is a smart move, since the first couple rounds will be easier and give me time to do research. But I'd rather play sooner, not later.

Let's start filling in our list of players, and pick a state lottery for draft position:

As for the League name, we should get the suggestions out there. Since this is our 10th Strat Season, how about something like Double Digit League? Big Ten? Decade? Other ideas totally welcomed....

I like a league name that provides some geographic/thematic guidance for team names. Since we are re-creating the 2005 season, and so much of the Gulf of Mexico was distracted last fall by all the hurricanes, let's bring fine online simulated baseball to the fine people of the Caribbean and call it the Gulf League!

My initial thought for a team name: Jamaica Mistake.
