[quote:c204028ea5="drfreeze49"]Since[b:c204028ea5] Ruth has a pitching card[/b:c204028ea5]...In a[b:c204028ea5] live draft[/b:c204028ea5] could you have [b:c204028ea5]pitching Ruth [/b:c204028ea5]on your roster....and then on the days he [b:c204028ea5]does not pitch [/b:c204028ea5]pickup [b:c204028ea5]hitting Ruth[/b:c204028ea5]?(until game 141)

I am sure it can be done...but I think a [b:c204028ea5]gentlemen's agreement[/b:c204028ea5] would be needed

What do you [b:c204028ea5]guys think?[/b:c204028ea5][/quote:c204028ea5]

If you have Babe Ruth in a LIVE league, your best bet is to use
him as a hitter every day.

Hypothetically, this could be an issues with some of the other both
way players. One extra limit -- your max roster limit would have to
be 11 pitchers only, 16 hitters only and the swing player.

But since these guys were playing both ways, why not allow them
to play both ways?

In a DH league when the Babe pitches plug in one of his hitting cards as a DH. Best of both worlds. :D And he can only be assigned to the team that drafts him. So NO Babe vs. Babe, unless its Babe Adams vs. Babe Ruth or Babe Ruth vs. Babe Herman.

The way I read the writeup on Ruth if you have his pitching card you do not automatically have his hitting card. I translate that to mean they are separate entities. Thus you might draft Ruth the pitcher and I might draft Ruth the hitter and we would both have him in those roles because they are separate. They just happen to have the same name on the cards. Likewise I assume you could draft Ruth the pitcher and Ruth the hitter and play them both as desired. But Ruth the hitter would hit as himself wherever you put him in the lineup regardless of LF, RF, DH, whatever and Ruth the pitcher would use the 8N card whenever he hit.

Well I think you can only draft Joe wood the hitter or joe wood the pitcher so I would think it would be the same

Double Duty Radcliffe -
I understand this name actually came from a colon issue.

So three Ruth cards now. You draft one you own 'em all and can choose whichever one you want.

I imagine most will draft the pitcher card and then upgrade to one of the good cards.
