Andy, we thought you had retired. I'm glad to see there is doubt in your mind.

It would be nice to see what good players Duffy, Sam Thompson, Bill Dahlen, George Davis, and a few of the others on this list were in their heyday. Although, they are pretty much all going to have hellacious E ratings.

And we have to remember this was the first season of 60'-6" from the mound to the plate.

Delahanty's card should have "injury due to falling off of bridge". I guess that would be his 03 card.

The Hershberger card should have a note - injured, slit throat.

shouldn't say that about him. tragic man and life. his father committed suicide and willard found him. he replaced an injured ernie lombardi and felt bad whenever they lost, a few of the players blamed him. the reds went on the win it all that year. temporarily retired his number. that number is now permanently retired. #5! courtesy of the great john bench. ironically, the man willard replaced, lombardi was also mentally ill and attempted to commit suicide the same way! an SI article from 91 called "the razor's edge" tells all. it's spellbinding. take the time to read it. don't think you'll flippantly type such disrespectful s**t.
