New 1969 Theme League - Now Drafting

Our historical single season sets

No Randy, I live in MN now. I did live in Tampa for seven years back in the 80's though. Finished high school in FL and did undergrad at USF.

Been to Lakeland many times. And remember the pride of Lakeland - Bubba Douglas - the pro wrestler. He was one of the guys that always got beat in the TV matches. I was a wrestling fan back then.

Glad to have you Poppa - we have a small but dedicated group of regular '69 game players and need a few more! A real good group of guys too. The '69 set runs deep and for a lot of us carries great nostaglia.

wow, tough weekend, not many picks....and again I apologize for my part in that yesterday. Today was opening day of NFL so I guess that's part of why we had NO picks.

Hopefully we can start up the clock tomorrow. I know franky said he was hoping to do it after round 5 and we're in round 8 so I think it would probably be good to start it now.

set the parameters of when it will be on/off for those of us out west.....

good luck to all this week and happy drafting.

I was 11 years old during the 1969 World Series and had never watched a complete baseball game on TV. I was sick during games 3,4 and 5 and stayed at home and watched them from the beginning to end. I was hooked and have been ever since.

I went on to become a sports writer and still work at that profession today. Baseball will also be what runs deepest inside of me.
That's what I like the 1969 game. The players mean something to me.

aaarrrrgggghhh, I wanted Wally Bunker and Rick picked him 1 pick in front. What were the chances? He fit my budget perfect here. :x

Paul that makes us even. I was banking on getting Boog Powell in the fifth round.

I have had better luck with Wally Bunker than with most of the pitchers who cost more than him. For me he seems to do better than guys like Hands, Stottlemyre, Jenkins, Boswell, J. Perry, Seaver, and McLain.

Ray Culp is the other low priced starting pitcher who is worth his value.

Keep Rolling

I drafted both Yaz and Fregosi. Two of the worst underachievers in the 1969 game. Maybe this is their season? I hope.
