Yep, and I think that I can provide links to teams as incredibly strong evidence, b/c we are not talkin bout the obvious cards here, but ones which so far I think Ive only seen myself use in this park; along with the usual ones.

paige, thanks for the work and sharing the knowledge.

All those different criteria, and I'm still not on any list.

Well, THAT list doesn't count

They are what they are, fluffy nonsense. There are too many variables from league to league to mean very much. I don't care who's in my division as long as they play to win.

I think tournaments like Barnstormers and Good People rewarded winners with bonus points.

The restrictive "Managers less than ... " efforts seem to be not as common as they once were. Right now I see two "under 500" leagues with one team each on the list of available leagues.

If the goal is to keep the sharks out, maybe a better idea would be a private league where only managers who've never won a championship, advanced to the finals, or who have below .500 records would be allowed to join.

Waay back in a different ATG 1, 2 and 3, a "Ring Fling" series was played. If you had won a championship, you couldn't play. So someone without a ring was guaranteed to get one. I can see as far back as Ring Fling VII in ATG 3,my last Fling, as I won a ring in a different league. I think a few more Flings went on. I remember someone that went on to prominence and a very high rating won the first Fling....I think it was AGabriel, but I won;t swear to it, and I can't see that far back in my own record of teams.

It was fun, and if there's an interest in it, go for it! Just make it a private league  ,

The first ring fling was maybe six months into ATG2, so a lot of people didn't have rings yet, including me. The sign-up sheet had nine or 10 owners, but was stalled. Rob55 and I were teasing each other a bit on the message thread, but he had rings and I didn't, so I ended up on the list.

My teams were coming into a hot streak and won a handful of rings before the Ring Fling got to the playoffs. Five other Ring Flingers won titles before the playoffs, so half the crew wasn't eligible for Ring Fling II. It was a great group of owners and continued that way as new people filled empty spots. I think we had a Ring Fling alumni league a few years later.

sschu (see link below) had the best team in the first league, but my crew slipped by his in the finals in seven games.

I was amused to see Boston #21 headlining sschu's rotation. I presume that Roger wanted more money from Strat, or TSN.

If you reverse the list for managers you want in your league to guarantee you make the play offs I bet I can make that list.
