Which is generally considered the more important/valued stat for a fielder in mlb?

UZR is generally a better stat... way more advanced, way complicated to calculate.

Range + Errors is a good old school way to look at fielding. UZR captures that and more.

This is an example. You have to go to each player and look it up.

complicated doesn't equal accurate.
There is still subjectivity in the factors, even though they're being cited as objective. It's tough to capture...but IMO if there's going to be any subjectivity, it should be in watching the players play, and making inferences from that to augment the stats.

Not "UZR is a perfect stat because it's way more advances and way complicated to calculate." Because, demonstrably, it's not anything like a perfect stat. But generally speaking, better than Range + Errors.
