This play never works

The old fake to third throw to first never works, right.
Why do they even try?

Keep watching until the Angels/Yankees highlight

Whenever I watch a video from mlb.com it's always laggy. I'm wondering if I pause it and wait a bit I'll get a better experience. I just don't have the patience to find out :)

I actually saw it work in a Pony League (13-14 year olds) game this year, believe it or not. Probably the first time ever, or at least since the days of Tinkers & Evers & Chance. Or Granderson...

In case others are interested upgrading to the latest flash and installing NextDef seems to help with the choppiness.

It happens more often than you'd think.

What I don't like is when the pitcher begins his move to deliver the pitch home and does a whirl around and fakes a throw to second.

If that isn't trying to decieve the runner then what is. I think MLB should make it a rule that you can't fake to any base, not just first.

Little League coaches LOVE the fake move. Keeps the runner in place without the almost-obligatory throwing error.

Anything that embarrasses the Yankees is pleasing in itself. . .

But a HR off Rivera AND this Little League trick? Priceless.

This is actually the one rule in baseball that I hate the most, even though I will admit having it happen to the Yankees is great.

Fake throws to any base should be banned and incessant throws the 1st should be reigned in. Nothing is more boring and time consuming than having one of those late inning pickoff move fests. I know people go absolutely bonkers when you even suggest a rules change, but this is one area where I think it's necessary.
