Entire 86 Stros are there :)

Scott
Ryan

Darwin
Keough
Knudson
Madden
Kerfeld
L Anderson
DSmith

Bass
Puhl
Ashby
MBailey
Doran
Walling
Lopes
Garner
Thon
Reynolds
Cruz
Gainey
Hatcher
Walker

Main problem I see is with Lopes. He was with cubbies most of year and did better with them than Stros. With 81 LA he was pretty bad. DThomas and Sax both played some second that year. Lopes played 37g for Hou in 86 and 58 for LA in 81. Should we split ownership, half season each? Or do I replace him with an equivalent astro? Just wondrin

Welllll...I couldn't play 84 Cubs because players on other teams. Now I can't use Lopes because he's on the Dodgers (though he is actually carded to Houston in 86). I need to learn to pick better. :?

In any case, he's already on my list, but if I get him, I'll pass him off to LA. I would like permission to get a replacement of approximate value. Lopes is a 3M dollar player. Or, if the commish thinks it's all right, may I use a more expensive Cruz or Puhl?

For replacement players I would look for players that played for your team around that period. I am using John Burkett as a replacement although he wasn't on the 1989 Giants roster.

Again remember I am using a pretty decent Matt Williams card for the 1989 Giants, when the 3B stats for the 1989 season aren't nearly as good. So feel free to use your best judgement in a replacement you deem fair. If you can't find an Astro that fits the bill, I think a close approx, salary wise does the trick.

I am using a 1978 John Montefusco because there really isn't a good fit, on the Giants ATG rosters to fill in as a final starter.

For a player like Lopes, I will always think of him as a Dodger first and he really isn't who I consider the key to the 1986 Astros so just find a good Astro replacement (even if its and upgrade) or use an equivalent you call.

Go right ahead and use the '46 Red Sox if like you said you can make a few downgrades and get them under the cap.

Next time I run this theme I should get the teams up front, and then fill the league a bit more along divisional lines.

Have a few changes to my Pirates '60 team, but it looks like the league was set up as waivers (oops) so I'll wait til after those run and make the tweaks.

OK, the '46 Red Sox are in. Had to use 5 players not on the '46 Sox, in order to get under the cap. But, they all played on the Sox somewhere between '39 and '52, I think. And they are all scrub type players, ranging from $.57 to $1.12 in salary. Hope that is ok. We are full.
