2011 FIELDING RATING PREDICTIONS PLEASE

Postby apolivka » Mon Sep 19, 2011 12:11 pm

Brewers:

C-Lucroy 2(0)
1b-Fielder 4
2b-Weeks 3 (if he's lucky. Foot injury could drop him to a 4 again)
ss-Betancourt 4
3b-McGhee 4
lf-Braun 4(-2)
cf-Morgan 3(+2)
rf-Hart 2(-1) (I think he improved enough to get a 2 this year)

other

Gomez CF-1(-3) (maybe doesn't play enough to get his deserved 1)
Counsell 3b-3, 2b-3 (hope he doesn't go out with a 4. Give him a break HAL!)
Kotsay rf-3 1b-4
Wilson ss-3 (odd player, doesn't look all that swift, but is effective)
Harriston 2b-4 cf-4
Greinke, Wolf, Gallardo, Narveson and Marcum should all get 1s or 2s.

Funny thing, as horrible as the Brewer's team defense is, their pitching defense is about the best in the league! As a group, they are pretty good hitters too.

The Twins are depressing. Even if the ranges look good, the error totals will be high.

C: Mauer 1(-1), Butera 1 (-3)
1B: Morneau 2, Cuddyer 4
2B: Casilla 3, Nishioka 3, Tolbert 3, Hughes 4, Plouffe 4
SS: Casilla 3, Nishioka 3, Tolbert 4, Plouffe 4
3B: Valencia 4
LF: Who cares - will anyone seriously use Tosoni?
CF: Revere 1, Span 2
RF: Kubel 4, Cuddyer 4

Diamondbacks

C: Montero - 3
1B: Goldschmidt - 3 (should be 2 but not enough time in pros)
2B: Hill - 2
3B: Roberts - 3
SS: Drew - 2, McDonald - 2, Bloomquist - 3
LF: Parra - 2, Bloomquist - 3
CF: Young - 1
RF: Upton - 2

I think they are fairly predictable.

[quote:688d814361="melgibsonfan"]Aight. My A.D.D excitement for one of the top 25 days of the year. Please post your favorite team, and what you think their fielding rating will be:

I'll do the Tigers for 2011:

C- Avila- 2 (Godlike in all aspects)
1b-Cabrera-4
2b-Raburn-5, Santiago-2, Guillen-5,
ss- Peralta-4
3b-Inge-2, [b:688d814361]Betemit-3[/b:688d814361], Kelly-4. Raburn-5
LF-Dirks-3, Young-4, Raburn-4, Boesch-4
CF- Jackson-1
RF- Magglio-4, Boesch- 4

Verlander-0[/quote:688d814361]

I don't think there is any way Betemit gets a 3. I'd guess he's a 5, maybe a 4.

[quote:a83d6a7c5b="melgibsonfan"]Good for the Brewers except Morgan. A 3? What are you smoking?[/quote:a83d6a7c5b]

I think he's borderline 2-3. He takes some really bad routes and has more than his share of misplays to be solid 2, but has so much speed he can usually make up for it. Looking at his current defensive stats, he is exactly right down the middle for CF, but somewhat above average in the 18 games he's played in RF. So, my best guess is: cf-3(+2)e5/rf-2e5/lf-2e5. I'm a huge T-Plush fan, so hopefully he'll get a 2 in center, but I won't predict it. He'll have a killer card vs. RHP (.320/.373/.448) with only 6 GIDP so far. Wish he would walk a bit more--only 18 this year + 14 HPB.

Cory Hart's defensive stats are way better this year compared to his previous years, so I think he will get his 2.

Francouer may rate 3(-5)e6. He's having a career year in assists. A few plays he's made have been peerless.

The way he is hitting this year vs LH and RH, along with his durability and fielding could put him up in the $5 mil category and make him a steal at that. (which reminds me, he could be a *2-5 (18-12) stealer with his numbers this year.)
