The New TKL24 Prospect Draft

While we're waiting for loading might as well get this started. Not sure if Turtle wants to stay with the 30 minute time limit for 2nd round. Draft will be here, not on DD. Rules from the ILC:

1) There is 1 prospect draft during each year, including the 1st season.
2) The yearly prospect draft is 3 rounds and will be held immediately after our initial season's draft and after each FA draft the following season. Season 1's draft will be 2 rounds since there are no records and the draft will be serpentine.
3) Only those players without MLB experience and signed prior to the start of that MLB season, are eligible for any prospect draft.
4) All prospect drafts are non-serpentine (except season 1), and draft order is based on the previous season's regular season records and determined by a lottery
5) Owners lose rights to all prospects that they release; Released prospects are eligible to be re-drafted.
6) 30-minute time slots shall be used for all drafts after the first round of all drafts.
7) The initial prospect draft will be 2 rounds and will be in inverse order of the initial FA draft.

Eligibility Examples:

Eligible for this draft- Harper, Trout, Hosmer, J. Weeks- Were signed by MLB teams prior to 3/31/11 but did not have MLB appearances prior to 3/31/11.

Ineligible for this draft-Kimbrel, J. Guzman, Daniel Murphy, Cole- Had MLB appearances prior to 2011 (even if not SOMO carded) or were not drafted/signed before 3/31/11.

You pretty much need to find them on your own. I'll edit this in a few minutes and add a couple websites that list prospects. Some, like Hosmer will have a card next year, if they got enough MLB appearances (usually around 50 AB's or 30 IP's but could vary). Who you draft depends on your stategy, if you think your 2011 team will contend for the title then you would probably want someone who played in the majors this year and will have a card and can contribute in '11, if you are building more for the future you might want to take a highly regarded player who won't be in the majors until '12 or even later. You could take a guy who played in MLB this year 1st and then take a player still in the minors in the 2nd.
