I would have no problem giving the founder of the league my e-mail address or cell phone number.

I have sent league mail and an e-mail to RJ today. I had his e-mail from awhile back - hope it's still valid. If he is keeping track of and making posts in the HOF leaague while in Tuscany, I tend to think too that he just doesn't know somehow. And if the group is patient, I have no problem waiting.

On the other hand, I am conscious of ugrant's pre-stated schedule demands in October and the general sense of urgency in needing to make a draft happen to keep everyone engaged and interested. We would all like to get and keep things moving. It's almost morning in Italy, so maybe Rich (RJ) will rise, see the email and start picking. Let's see what happens tomorrow.

And anyone can feel free to e-mail me their e-mails and/or cell numbers. I have had Bill's (ALLStar) and Doug's (jamesgang) for years now and only pocket dial them a few times a week....

Let's have faith that RJ will be with us soon.

my e-mail is dwiberg123@yahoo.com

The only reason I texted Bill Friday night was becasue I was anxious to see who he picked. Not out of impatience... But I am happy to give anyone a heads-up when they are up and would be happy to get the same when I am up.

And Bill - who goes out on a Friday night? C,mon, man!

Nice to get up this morning and see all the proxies firing. Makes for a smooth DD draft. :)

This is a fascinating draft! It will be very interesting to see how our strategies play out. And LMB, obviously you weren't the only one coveting elite pitching early!

I've got 10 proxies ready to fire!
Would love to get through at least round 6 today.
I'm very interested to see how this turns out.
Some going for pitching, some going for hitting, some going for defense, some mixing it up. Very interesting.
Just curious as to who was everybody's "most surprising" pick of the first round.

I can see logic in every pick, so that's a tough call. I was going to say Pat Kelly, just because of his range in CF, but he's almost a 2M player, a decent RF and one of two really great base stealers in the draft. Obviously he and Harper will create some runs with their speed and a run or two might win a lot of games. So Kelly sounds like a good pick in that retrospect.

My logic was driven by the lack of good defensive CF and SS in the dregs of the '69 game. But nobody is really following suit (i.e. Kubiak still left - that surprises me). Most evidently content with a 3 at SS. I like Bud Harrelson cause he scuffled with Pete Rose back in the playoffs in '73 (I think '73 - Doug will know for sure) and he has had a lot of clutch hits for me in the past.

For me, I guess it was Hicks. Not that I don't think he's a good pick, just the most surprising for the first round, because he's pretty much one-dimensional --- although it's a REAL GOOD dimension.
I'm just real interested to see if I get the other guys I have selected, or at least a majority of them.
I also think the ballpark drafting is going to be VERY interesting!
