2011 FIELDING RATING PREDICTIONS PLEASE

Postby mbertolli » Thu Sep 22, 2011 7:30 am

They will have to create a whole new error rating for Edwin E5 Encarnacion. 5e100?

[quote:230f6eeea1="Artie412"][quote:230f6eeea1]RF - Francour 3(-4) [/quote:230f6eeea1]

Francouer may rate 3(-5)e6. He's having a career year in assists. A few plays he's made have been peerless.

The way he is hitting this year vs LH and RH, along with his durability and fielding could put him up in the $5 mil category and make him a steal at that. (which reminds me, he could be a *2-5 (18-12) stealer with his numbers this year.)[/quote:230f6eeea1]

I don't know if they just go off of assists for arm strength or what ... if they do then Gordon will have a stronger arm rating than Francouer ... Gordon has 20 or more assists this year. Not sure what they use though.

[quote:d6391f925e="pip_the_midget"]The Twins are depressing. Even if the ranges look good, the error totals will be high.

C: Mauer 1(-1), Butera 1 (-3)
1B: Morneau 2, Cuddyer 4
2B: Casilla 3, Nishioka 3, Tolbert 3, Hughes 4, Plouffe 4
SS: Casilla 3, Nishioka 3, Tolbert 4, Plouffe 4
3B: Valencia 4
LF: Who cares - will anyone seriously use Tosoni?
CF: Revere 1, Span 2
RF: Kubel 4, Cuddyer 4[/quote:d6391f925e]

As a Twins fan, I can say that I have never seen such a collapse of team. Yes, every player except Cuddyer/Valencia missed over half the season, but nevertheless, it's been ugly. Pretty good predictions.
However, since none of the Twins except Cuddyer can hit, they better be able to play defense. I'm going to be slightly kinder with my predictions:

C: Mauer 1(-1), Butera 1 (-3) AGREED[/color:d6391f925e]
1B: Morneau 2, Cuddyer 4 AGREED[/color:d6391f925e]
2B: Casilla 3, Nishioka 2,[/color:d6391f925e] Tolbert 3, Hughes 4, Plouffe 4
SS: Casilla 3, Nishioka 2[/color:d6391f925e], Tolbert 4, Plouffe 4
3B: Valencia 4
LF: Who cares - will anyone seriously use Tosoni? Tosoni - 3[/color:d6391f925e]
CF: Revere 1, Span 2 (agreed)- Revere +2 arm[/color:d6391f925e]
RF: Kubel 4, Cuddyer 4
Cuddyer - 3[/color:d6391f925e]

2011 will go down as the worst Twins team ever.

C: Posey 2(-1), Stewart 2(-3), Whiteside 3(+1)
1B Huff 4, Belt 3
2B Sanchez 2,Keppinger 3, Fontenot 3, Burriss 2
SS: Crawford 2, Tejada 4, Cabrera 4, Fontenot 4, Burriss 4
3B: Sandoval 2, Tejada 4, Fontenot 3, Burriss 3, Derosa 3
LF: Ross 2(-1), Burrell 5(+1), Huff 4 (+2), Belt 3(0)
CF: Torres 1(0), Ross 3 (-1)

Check out Sandoval's UZR, and go get him now if you can, he's a 2 with a major bat vs RHP.

Padres Booby Prize

Postby TomSiebert » Sat Oct 01, 2011 6:34 pm

As a San Diego season ticket holder seven rows off 1B, I saw this team up close for about half their home games. Can't imagine there's another person on this board who even gives a sh!t, but here goes:

c - Hundley - 3(-1)
1B - Guzman - 4 / Rizzo - 2 (not that anybody's ever going to draft Rizzo)
2B - Hudson - 2 (not quite the glove man he was, and doesn't even seem to have his head in the game 100% of the time).
3B - Headley - 3
SS - Bartlett - 2
LF - Guzman - 4(+1) / Blanks - 4(+1)
CF - Maybin 1(0) (Don't know if he'll get it, but he deserves it; Maybin could run down a tornado).
RF - Denorfia - 2 (-1) / Venable - 2 (-1)

Hundley's arm is a crapshoot. At the beginning of the year, he couldn't throw anybody out and threw the ball away several times, but by season's end you couldn't steal on him.

I can't even begin to take a stab at error ratings, but Bartlett made a bunch in the season's first half, got better. There was a big difference in the second half of the season's defense when Brad Hawpe went on the DL and Guzman/Rizzo/Blanks replaced him. Hawpe was horrible, defensively.

A fun exercise! Thanks for the idea!

Tom, I have Blanks in a keeper league & his numbers vs RHs are ok. Any ideas on his rating at 1B?

Id love to see Lawrie get a 1 but I just cant see that happening. My guess is that he gets a 3.

Although he's improved a lot the last few weeks, I bet Thames gets a 5 (+2)
