An idea, live interactive strat online

I'll try to keep this as concise as possible.

I think the ability to play 1 game or 1 series at a time, live, with all managerial capabilities would be sweet. Everything as close to the same as the game is now when run through leagues, except you can jump start a game when ever you and a competitor wish to. No different than you would at home in person, except I don't picture a bunch of 30-50yr old men touting their strat cards around town with them. Just like checkers online, you open a table and play the game.

Not sure how big an under taking a project like this would be, I'm not much into the details of what it would take to set this type of thing up.

Whether you draft a team for each time you play, or have an auto draft in accordance with mutually agreed parameters (cap, DH etc), or even draft your own team for this specific type of game play and just go head to head with a competitors team regardless. Make real time in game decisions that HAL would normally make for you.

As fun as the current set up is, and it is great, once you get a season under way waiting around till 12:30am to see results can be a bit eh. Running multiple teams at a time can be a cumbersome way to get your strat fix in as well. Maybe a separate manager rating for this type of approach would be fitting, maybe tie it into the current rating system.

Lots of ways to go with it, I'm just kind of throwing it out there from the perspective of someone who enjoys the game and sometimes wishes he could just log in and play a quick series.

Not sure if it has ever been brought up before but curious as to thoughts on it?

SOM has a netplay utility that does this. Unfortunately, it take about 15 minutes to play a game when the connections stay stable. For those of us in multiple leagues, we would have to give up work, which would dramatically reduce our ability to play on this site.

I thought there might be something that allows this just wasn't sure nor had stumbled upon it yet. 15 minutes a game doesn't seem too bad.

well, that's 45 minutes per league, and I'm in about 10 most of the time. It adds up fast.

And both players have to have the latest version of the game. And you would both have to have the "official" player cards for ATG6 which, as far as I know, exist only on the TSN servers and in SOM's vault. It's possible to do this for recent year leagues, though.
