[quote:2df67540b9="TomSiebert"]Because the search function for these chat pages doesn't work (404 for me at least), I can't find an old thread from a couple years back when Normalization for contemporary Strat cards WAS on for the game, and people even got credits for it. But it's been done in the past. It may not be happening now. But I've seen such wild swings from teams of mine, it just makes me wonder/suspicious/paranoid.

TSN SOM does use certain of the computer game's maximum rules. Below is a link that explains some of these. However, none of the rules "normalizes" results by reducing the effectiveness of a player or team that has been doing well (or vice versa).

Normal random results for [i:2df67540b9]anything [/i:2df67540b9]can lead to wild swings in "expected" results. For example, let's say you are going to simulate a baseball season using a coin. Flip a coin: heads your team wins; tails your team loses.
Your coin-flip team gets hot and is 55 wins and 25 losses after 80 "games." The odds are about 1/1000 that you lose the next ten games in a row, and the odds are about 1/100 you lose 9 out of your next 10. (Incidentally, odds are the same for winning 10 of 10 or 9 of 10.)
So, if you hit a cold streak and lose 10 coin flips in a row, it's bad luck. Nobody changed or altered your coin, but if your coin is being virtually flipped by a computer a thousand miles away, it sure might seem like it!
