gonna have to petition an ammendment to treyomo's 8th shift. guess I can live with syl johnson being eliminated from reliever pool, but everyone having one and only one johnson was meant to have a couple of owner's lucky enough to get either randy or walter. both are rated E balance. since it was shift 5, and there are a limited number of johnsons, (so to speak) I think they need to be grandfathered in.

update, walter's cards are E's, randy has two available unbalanced cards, although walter could also be huge for senators qualification. Ill defer to commish if E overules, and we're down another johnson.

HM, as it stands right now, are there ENOUGH Johnson's to put on 12 teams?

also, on double initials, does that mean starters or including pitchers/platoons?

absolutely, you can only own one. they very greatly in quality, but there are more than enough, even if a few are excluded by other shifts. somebody usually owns cliff johnson, even in a 120m league.
I'd just like to see walter included since he was a big part of making that rule, along with randy and the plethora of switch hitting johnsons. some of us may need ernie johnson or si or connie, to fulfill the requirement. it'll make your autodraft placement interesting...

As I see it, it's between you and Treyomo, since it's your two theme's that are bumping up against one another a bit. If Treyomo wants to make an exception for the Big Train, I don't have a problem with it. See if you two can come to a meeting of the minds. If I AM needed to make a ruling, I will. Just want to give you two a chance to iron it out first.

Working on my draft card. Man, what a Chinese puzzle box of a mess! I had forgotten exactly [i:981da24ce8]how[/i:981da24ce8] diabolical a Shifting Sands league can be. I love it; but then, I like horror movies.

1. Modmark. Theme = Each team must have three position player (not DH) platoons active at all times; injuries don't let you off the hook, so plan accordingly.
2. wrz25: Theme = Your SS, 2B, and CF must have a combined fielding rating of 7 or higher. (e.g. SS 2, 2B 2 and CF 3, or SS 1, 2B 3, CF 3, etc)
3. Roosky. Theme - you may only carry one pitcher that is 8 million or more at any given time.
4.honestiago--Balanced Batters--roster of 15; 5 must bat R, 5 left, and 5 are switch hitters.
5. he's meat - each team must have one, and only one JOHNSON at all times.
6. gfdwarf07 - At least one member of the starting (hitters) lineup for every game must have come from the WAS-DB, WAS-pre, WAS-post or MN-exp rosters, even considering injuries. (WAS-EXP does NOT count).
7. miduar - catchers cannot have a "1" injury rating, and MUST leadoff
8. treyomo - Uneven Steven - no pitchers allowed with a balance rating of E.
9. OakAth72- Left, Right, and Small....All East Teams play in Penmar, Central in Hilltop, West in Forbes '57.
10. Jamesgang77 - All relievers at .75 cents maximum.
11. Paul_Long71 - Of your starting 8 guys, your top HR hitter, whoever has the most on their "real life stats" not simulated stats, must bat in the 9th spot in the order.
12. Camsport75 (with Dad) - Every team must have two players with the same initials for his first and last name (example - Joe Jackson and Goose Goslin).

The intention of the double initials was for minimum of 2. You can have more. I started counting and stopped when I got to 40. I was maybe half way thru the hitters and I didn't start the pitchers yet.

For simplicity, it should be the name on the card, so nicknames count (Goose Gossage or Wild Bill Wright).

I'm in the east, and went to bed after the randomizer. I'll work on my team with my son when I get home from work, so I apologize for maybe holding things up a little bit today.
