Reyes

[quote:627112ee89="geekor"][quote:627112ee89="socalchiro"]Lifelong Mets fan here, with a question...

Can we get Frank Cashen back somehow?

I was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY. My mom was a huge Dodger fan. I've come to feel her pain...albeit somewhat. At least the Boys of Summer made it to the WS a number of times.

I'm not ready to jump ship but I'm really getting to the point of just not caring anymore. How can a big market team be so bad?

I'm not sure what the answers are for them. Part of me really wants them to send Reyes/Wright and Bay packing and build their farm system up. I'd love to see the young talent out there. I'd also love to hear them say..."Look fans, this is what we are doing. We are rebuilding from inside out".

I'd also like them to be more forthcoming with injuries. ie. Ike Davis In Met terminology,[b:627112ee89] the 15 day DL stay = a season ending injury[/b:627112ee89]. How can a guy hurt an ankle (sprain/bone bruise) and then miss 3/4 of the season? And then Johan Santana? Keep teasing us with him coming back? He will never EVER be the same if/when he comes back...

I could ramble on forever as my 3rd cup of coffee is kickin in, but I'll spare you all right now...

I'll raise you Kendries Morales :P[/quote:627112ee89]

See your Morales, raise you a Wainwright.

He's a lot better than Morales though.

There is no limit to the amount of damage that can be caused by stupidity.

As I mentioned as well, it stems from the top level of the org. It's a character "thang". Reyes is a symptom, but these are professionals, not children. They can still lead by example from anywhere in the organization. Just ask Don Mattingly.

Being a Cardinal fan Wainwright was a big loss.
But as a Ranger fan I know how much difference the Morales loss made in the Angels. But even more was the way that injury happened. I still find it hard to believe he has missed 2 years over that.

Regarding the flap about him taking himself out that will be forgotten by history.

Reyes next contract will be difficult for any team considering it. No denying the talent and potential. But the injury history would give me concerns. It will be interesting to see how that affects offers in terms of years and $$$.

As far as Clemens throwing a ball in one instance and a half bat in another at Piazza.....Piazza had his chance.... took a couple of steps toward Clemens after the bat throwing incident, then realized he was going to get his butt handed to him by Clemens and meagerly went on his way. A couple of you guys called it right...there is no bigger Mickey Mouse organization in baseball than the Mets.

No. He just realized that Clemens was insane from steroids. We could all lip-read Mike asking Roger, "What is your problem?" The difference between a normal person and a drug-fueled loony. But, hey, worship Roger Clemens. Be that way. His butt will be put to good use when he goes to jail for lying to Congress.
