Stadium Draft- vote yes or no on rules change (see roscodog's post)

If an owner's stadium dimensions changes by 6 or more in any one area (example Left Hr's goes from 1-6 to 1-12) or by 15 or more cumulatively that owner may change to an unowned stadium. The new stadium's dimensions must be within 4 of the old stadium in each category. This choice must be declared when Spring Draft cuts are declared.

What about weighting HRs more than S's?

Aren't they more important to a Park than S's?

That's not a bad idea but I don't really want to make it any more complicated, my head is already starting to hurt. :)

Okay.

By the way, I went with the Rogers Centre for my faux Stadium. People, please use that park if you want to. Just post it on this thread and I'll switch to a different faux stadium.

Just FYI,

It's Thanksgiving weekend here in Canada, I'll be around for another hour or 2 then have to head out for supper with my wife's family. Will be back later this evening though. Tomorrow out during the day for a bit for a thanksgiving lunch with my family back in the later afternoon.

Hopefully I won't hold the prospect draft up too much.

Also just to clarify the prospect rules, is a player such as Chapman draftable? Being that he pitched in the Majors in 2010?

Prospect draft:
1) There will be one prospect draft each season.
2) The yearly prospect draft is 4 rounds, to be held immediately after each year's Spring Free Agent draft.
[b:9aaddf9069]3) Players eligible for the prospect draft will be any player who has not appeared in a MLB game prior to the start of the current MLB season (3/31/2011). This includes minor leaguers, college and high school players, and that 12 year old you saw in the LLWS. [/b:9aaddf9069]
4) The initial prospect draft is serpentine. Draft order for this initial Prospect draft will be the reverse of the draft order for the Initial Free Agent draft. All subsequent prospect drafts are non-serpentine, and draft order is based on the previous season's regular season records.
5) There will be a 5 hour clock for Round 1 of each prospect draft. All subsequent rounds will operate with a 3 hour clock.
6) Individual owners are responsible for their own prospect research.

No on Chapman since he appeared in a MLB game before this year, even though he did not have a 2010 card. He will be eligible in the spring FA draft.

ok, thanks for the clarification. It doesn't change my first pick but good to know for my other ones. There will be a ton of good talent in next years spring FA draft for sure.

Can we start in on the Prospect draft?

Postby fredpaii » Sat Oct 08, 2011 12:32 pm

Too early?

And would a rule stipulating that once you write a player in, you cannot change him later (unless you screwed up and wrote in someone not eligible) be advisable? Reason I'm asking is if someone writes a player in and changes it later that makes it difficult for subsequent pickers to know who is available. I think it throws people off. Once they read a name on the list they assume he's not available any more. It's too tedious if multimple people are trading in their picks. Later pickers are in a frantic situation trying to decide who in fact is actually available it seems in that case.
