Steve Renko tossed a no-hitter in my $60 million league tonight. Who says pitching is dead?

Cool! in July Of 1979 I saw Steve Renko (Boston) throw a 8 1/3 innings of no-hit ball against the Oakland A's in Oakland. The batter who broke up the no-hitter was a rookie that threw left but batted right (weird) and had an even weirder crouching stance...........yeah it was Rickey.

Same night, in game 7 of the playoff final, Earl Moore tossed a no-hitter in an $80 million league. So no-hitters by Renko at $60 million and Earl Moore at $80 million. And Renko tossed his in Huntingdon Ave. Grounds, not exactly a pitcher's paradise.

Pitching isn't dead here, it's just hiding in the small cap leagues and Petco-like parks.

I agree that pitching is still very relevant, it is just different now than it once was I feel. Playing small ball is what I love most about Strat and what keeps me coming back. Years ago there were teams winning rings with pitching teams with 4 $10m starters and minimal offense but I think that would be harder now to succeed at. I think pitching teams can still win but more balanced to win in hitters parks. I realize times have changed and more people are playing bomber teams but I still love the small ball way and I plan on keeping on......go small ball!

I am playing this team right now and will continue to build balanced teams that can win in hitters parks. No guarantee of success of course but will keep at it.

your team is kicking butt. surprised that you did not use more starters besides Santana with BP HRs as in pitching parks, those turn into outs.
one thing is for sure, Mr. Killer B is deadly in pitchers parks.
