[quote:eddf4bd80c="nevdully's"]Thanks Bernie. :)

btw is there any way I can start a private thread with a few select guys here (not asking for you B) just to stay on point about a couple of things?[/quote:eddf4bd80c]
Not a way you can do it yourself on this forum implementation, as far as I know. I have the means to set one up for you, but it's work - if it's important, send me an email with some details and maybe we can work something out.

Or trade emails and do it that way.

If we sign Kevin Brown, do we have to throw in an autographed Star Wars poster as well?

I don't know what they did to the ball in 1930 but the seasons that Vance and Lefty Grove had are pretty amazing when you consider the league ERA. I mean the Phillies team ERA was over 7! Honestly I would like some of those terrible pitchers from 1930 to be added. They could come in handy in some themes, when you want to abuse some poor pitching.

after looking at Mathewson 09 again, I'm not so sure he's going to be as pricey as I originally thought. If I'm reading the card correctly, he's got 1 more hit and 2 less walks than the 1905 9.80M version.. Given that 1909 is also an 8 vs 1905's 9, I can't see him cracking 10m. Or am I missing something?

No you read it wrong. Against righties the new card has 2 walks less and .6 less hits than the 9.80 card. It also has better hitting, the 4N is much better than the 7N. On the other hand, he weakens an inning earlier on the new card. All things considered the new card is definitely worth more than .2 million more than the 9.8 M card; it's a significant upgrade. So the new card should be well over 10.

Yep, Petro, you're right. He has 0.6 less hits and 2 less walks both ways, and is a slightly better hitter for the '09 card than '05. I will be shocked if he is not over $10 million.
