Lineup Feedback Request

Postby MtheB » Thu Oct 20, 2011 3:18 pm

input is always appreciated.

Bando is not available unfortunately, Carter seems too LHP oriented, and there are limited LH starters in this league.
I have the McGwire 88 card, which gives good power for 3.75 mill, would be hard to put in Carew at over 8 mill and figure out what other position to cut salary on to that, and then have to replace those 33+ Hrs from McGwire.

But clearly, that .388 BA Carew card would be perfect to build a team around next time in that stadium.

I have never played this park, however I would not use a singles switch hitter in a park that has such a big drop in value. I would rather use a platoon in such a case. For instance I would use the cheap Carew with A. Galarraga in a platoon.

see from Steven's link that Bush was mediocre in Griffith 57--as a switch hitter you lose his advantage as a lefty hitter when facing LH starters.
I opted for Lloyd as there is a predominance of RH starters in the league, and I need my #2 hitter on base with Colovito and Mays batting behind.

I switched out Smoltz and got Beck, which gave me the salary to get Matt Williams at 3B over Robinson.

Not sure I understand this thinking. Seems that with few LHSP its a better case for Bush, as he will see more RHP, in which case he does take advantage of the park's bps rating for LHB. Either way Fox seems a better fit as a #2 hitter with his low gba and no steal ability. In any case, is Lloyd's performance against those few LHSP worth the 2 million more in cost?

If you're staying with Santop check out Nicosia for a platoon mate. Ruel is less but is a w.

Either way, best of luck. Its an interesting and tricky park to use.
