Pick a record and he may wind up in the top 1-5 in it. [/quote:6b2027101f]

runs scored
Ruth and Aaron 2174, tied for 4th
Pujols 1,291

As you get older, 900 is a lot of runs

Career batting average

Pujols is at .328, currently ranked #33
This will probably go down. Alberts batting average has gone down in each of the last 4 seasons

This will also continue to decline with age.

HRs

Off to a great start, but soon A Rod will knock Mays into 5th, so Albert will have to keep hitting them.
6 more years of 35+
Good chance of that

Could see Albert decline in rate stats, or could see him delay the inevitable with a shift to friendlier confines.

Of course, mother second half he put up this year was typical Albert.

I knew this would be taken out of context right when I wrote it.

Obviously Pujols won't be able to top Cobb's record of .366. He'd have to hit about .400 the rest of the way so he'll just have to live with being a .328 hitter.

The point is it's very plausible that he wind's up there in a BUNCH of stats.
Homers, RBI"s, Runs, TB, 2B and SLG. Not many guys can say that

I'll agree the rate stats will be harder although I checked and he's currently 3rd In slugging with a pretty big buffer on the guys below him.

Rickey's SB record may be in jeopardy though. :D

Oh and Petro you're right. Williams basically missed 5 seasons due to the wars of his day.

an aside...

anyone hear Mike Huckabee talk about how he's been a Cards fan since childhood, and then proceeded to call Albert Poo-joles one of his favorite players....politicians are all complete and total inveterate liars. It's devastating this whole world. There is no honor among the empty suits. Zero.
