Evaluate a teade - YOU MAKE THE CALL!

JMO, but complaining about offers is useless. Don't get an attitude when you get a trade you don't like or think is fair. It's just a game. I don't understand guys who get offended by trade offers.

Just reject the trade and explain to the other person in a non-offensive way (it's easy to read something out of context) why the trade doesn't work for you. If you are interested in players being offered, make a counter-offer.

Have to second the Wolverine.

You know I was just thinking some people who loudly complain seem to have more problems with lopsided trades. The more they whine the more problems they have. Makes me wonder if there are many people out there who send them offers just because they know it will ruin their day. Think about the power that gives a person. In less than half dozen clicks they can drive someone crazy. They cause the person to fume a while and then waste 10 minutes going to the boards to whine. Great entertainment if you like watching people lose it.

You see this in life all the time in life. Beltre makes the mistake of telling one person he does not like his head messed with. What does everyone now do when he hits a HR? Even his best friends do it.

Recently I didn't have much to do so for fun went back over the trade complaint threads. I recorded only 10 people who like to complain about trade offers on the boards. As common as these things are I was expecting a much higher number.

7 of those same people have sent me trade offers which were clearly one sided and would not be accepted by anyone who understood the game. That's right, 70% of the complainers were also offenders. 2 of the others I do not remember receiving offers from. And 1 to my recollection has always sent offers which even if they did not fit my situation would be considered reasonable.

This is one of the reasons all the complaints here are little more than entertainment for me.

On the assumption this trade was brought to our attention for opinions to help the poster decide whether to accept the offer or not.

I like Sandberg better than Gordon.
I like Leonard more than Mize.
I do not yet have enough experience to have preference for Chance or Tiant. But Tiant is the more expensive so on surface have to at least call that even.

So cannot call it a bad offer and would have to see both rosters to say if I would accept or not. In the absence of having that I probably decline because I really like Sandberg and rarely make first base much of a priority since there are so many I consider acceptable.

Wait....aren't you the guy that "quit" several months back because you got very upset over consistently bad autodrafts? That is the definition of taking it seriously. Will we be sharing a couch in these therapy sessions or have you already been there and have now become a counselor?

Listen, I seriously don't waste more than three seconds hitting the decline button and moving on. I don't pace around my office waving my hands in the air and I don't punch the wall. I come on the forums and someone makes mention of a bad trade and every once in awhile I think, "oh yeah, I just got a good one" and add it to the thread in the interest of supporting commentary. Should I just keep my fingers away from the keyboard and not post it...probably. Maybe I should have posted it as "I got an offer of Hodges for Bagwell is this a good deal" thus making it look like I am not "complaining". Is this whining, not sure.....if you weed out all of the randomization requests and new league signups then ninety percent of the threads could be defined as "whining".

And to Valen......my original comment only took ninety seconds to draft but elicited three consecutive and lengthy responses from you, maybe I am the one that is being "entertained"

And if I entertain you or anyone else in any way I am just glad I could return the favor.

For me the boards are just a diversion to fill in time between support calls, recover from ugly customers, and recharge for the next one. Just expressing opinions, no need to get bent out of shape.

I am inclined to agree. You may well indeed be the only sane person here. Crazy leads to a lot more discussions though.

Here is one I just received and I welcome the politically correct types to justify this one.......

You give up:
Bagwell, Jeff (1994) ($11,600,000)

Other team gives up:
Hodges, Gil (1953) ($6,260,000)[/quote:58bf732e5c]

Hodges has a better glove. If you make fewer errors, you need fewer HRs. :D
