Thanks for the postings and the cards of Matty Alou. He joined the Bucs just as I was old enough to truly follow the team and he was one of my favorites. He could turn on a fastball for sure! I saw him get hits - singles mostly - off of some very hard throwers.

I always though he had great looking baseball cards.

Wow. This makes me sad. Matty, Felipe, and Jesus were special to anyone growing up in the 60's, among the first Latin players to make an impact on the game. (Obviously, Clemente and Marichal are in that select group too.) Matty was especially fascinating to me because he completely changed his hitting style after he was traded to the Pirates.
