Lofton vs Edmonds

Postby motherscratcher » Tue Nov 08, 2011 12:29 pm

I've used Fernandez a bunch of times. He wasn't available to me post waivers, but I was lloking to try someone different anyway.

I came out of the draft with Oscar Charleston and Bonds. I thought that was too much to devote to 2 players in a $100m league. Maybe I should have kept them both.

sdajr - Why do you have $15m unspent on that team? some kind of theme?

Keep Charleston next time. Barry + Oscar is the perfect combo for a place like League Park, especially because Charleston's got a slight tilt vs. lefty pitchers. You can always go cheap at shortstop or catcher, by getting a good fielder at the former and a positive clutch or hit-and-run guy at the latter. Or you could save money with a Johnny Evers at 2B.

Those premium lefty bats are key in your park.

As it is, you should do okay, so don't stress it. If you can, pick up a bigger bat at first base. Jim Bottomley usually does well for me in a park like that and there should be numerous others available. Good luck!

Here's a current League 34 team doing okay for me:

I went all the way with this League 34 crew:

What's retarded is that he was hit by like 15 pitches and had 20 some odd sacs.

So, he was 600 PA durable. Just not in Stratville.

140M no surprise--I dont know if I would use him under all conditions there. But for Dunn and many times League, he is a decent value. Did his part here at 100m

and here at 80M with 46 XBH...both teams at top of division

Well, Edmonds hit 5 HRs in the first 6 games :D

I did consider keeping both Charleston and Bonds, but like I said, it seemed too much to devote $28mil to 2 players. Maybe I'm wrong on that one.

Of course, Ruth was and still is available. It's too late now because the season already started, but I could have had an outfield of Bonds, Ruth, and Charleston. I kind of wish I had done that. It might have ended up a disaster, but heck if it wouldn't have been a load of fun.

Fun. But probably not a winner. Exactly. But chicks dig the long balls.
