Am playing in Griffth 57.

Current lineup against RHP:

Lofton
Fox
McGwire 99
Aaron
Lloyd
Matt Williams (3B)
Snyder (LF)
L. Parrish (c)

I could switch out Lloyd and Williams to have this:

Lofton
Fox
W. Wells (ss)
McGwire 99
Snyder
Aaron
L. Gardner (3B)
L. Parrish (c)

so the question is--in that RH Power Park are Willie Wells and Larry Gardner going to outperform Matt Williams and Pop Lloyd?

Have never used Wells before, and he seems to often be on the FA....wondering if its one of those cards that doesnt equate to his stats....

I like the Wells lineup better. Suspect if you are seeing him on FA it is because of defense. At lower caps many might prefer to have a 1 at SS and get their offense somewhere else compromising the defense at less critical position.

Though for full disclosure I mostly do high cap leagues and Wells is never available in those. Never heard anyone complain about his offense.

almost always play 80 mill so thats probably what I am seeing.

this is an interesting paradigm:
its really weighing William's equal HR power, with far lower OBP than Wells, then figuring in the D different between Wells and Lloyd. Gardner has somewhat better D than Williams (e11 vs e19), but Gardner won't hit near what Lloyd can hit in terms of BA and OBP.
So it really comes down to this:
Will Wells significantly better BA and OBP, combined with Gardners better D, create a better run differential than Lloyds defense and better offense than Gardner.

w.wells is the SS equivalent of hornsby at 2B. good power good BA.
i like the wells line-up better as well.

Williams tends to under-perform (at least the few times I've used him). I've never used Wells, but he seems to be coveted and is always picked early in live-draft leagues I've played in (granted, they are DD live drafts and not the capless ones). Gardner may do OK in your park because you've got a double-digit ballpark single there. Plus, he's bulletproof and clutch positive.

Live a little-- go for it! :)

I think in Griffith 57 Wells will work well.

Why in the world would you bat Snyder ahead of Aaron? Even if you have the cheap Aaron card, it has 39.65 on-base chances plus 8 ballpark HR while Snyder has 43 but is W.

In fact, why is Snyder even on your roster? Ty Gainey and Tony Gonzalez are both MUCH better platoon LF, and cheaper too! Jerry White is also a better option, and he's a switch-hitter so can't be jerked around as much by the LOOGY's.
