Also, curiously, David Wright was brought into the game and then removed. HAL does this too often.

SUBSTITUTE P - Bill Sherdel
SUBSTITUTE 2B- Martin Dihigo
SUBSTITUTE 3B- Rev Cannady
SUBSTITUTE SS- Charley O'Leary
SUBSTITUTE LF- Lefty O'Doul
SUBSTITUTE CF- Ned Hanlon
SUBSTITUTE RF- Edd Roush
SUBSTITUTE C - Bob Uecker
SUBSTITUTE 3B- Johnny Bench
SUBSTITUTE LF- Edd Roush
SUBSTITUTE RF- Cory Snyder

I love HAL. He pinch hit for my backup 3B in the top of the ninth (the backup is in because my starter is hurt), as well as the pitcher. Dihigo slides over to cover 2B as assigned; Cannady moves to 3B. O'Leary comes in at SS as assigned. O'Doul moves from RF to LF to cover for Frank Robinson, who was plunked in the inning and replaced by PR Alex Johnson. Hanlon goes to CF (he PH for my 3B), Roush slides to RF. All done! Except...Cannady is tagged as Remove for defensive sub with a lead . . . which should be ignored in this case but isn't, so he brings in Uecker to catch and moves Bench to 3B. Snyder is assigned as my RF defensive replacement, so he moves Roush to LF now and brings in Snyder. That move could have been eliminated if he had just brought Snyder in to PR instead of Johnson.

Go HAL!

My mistake, this all happened in the eighth, not the ninth. By the way, Bench committed his second error of the season (one at 1B, now one at 3B) so it did have the potential to cost me the game.

That makes my head hurt, rag. That must have happened in September when rosters were expanded.
