Worst Start Ever? 4-24: The rest of the story

Postby Misterg78582 » Tue Nov 22, 2011 6:11 pm

My team has started the season 4-24 -- a whooping 20 games under .500. They've been outscored 240-112. A six-game losing steak, a five-game losing streak, a seven-game losing streak, another 5-game losing streak. All I can do is throw my hands up every morning when I see the game results. How can any team be this bad???

This is a live draft team. Walter Johnson 0-5, Carlton 2-4, Clemens 1-6. Is there some reverse normalization button the strat gods can push to help this team turn it around???

It's not going to happen. The Strat Gods have spoken.

Realistically, the best you can hope for is a .500 record the rest of the way. 70 wins, tops.

I feel your pain. I have 4 more days until my first foray into a live draft league comes to a merciful end. It'll be a miracle if I don't reach 100 losses. To top it off, a dude I'm my league mocked me because I didn't want to trade Honus Wagner for Mel Ott. His reason was basically, my team sucks anyway, I might as well.

It's been a miserable experience.

Can you post a link to your team? That way I can check in from time to time to feel better about my team? :D

That is unfortunate. Curious who would do that?????? Eventually here I am going to dive into a live draft league again.........been probably 2 years since I did one.

Ok here is the link

I've been a bit facetious with this post since the season has already ended
and I did make the playoffs. Got eliminated by the Don in game six of the finals last night. This team finished the season 84-54 after starting 4-24. Tied for the second best record in the league. Which raises the question how can a team start so bad if it is truly play-off worthy?

Wow! That's incredible! That gives me some hope.

I think I will try it again sometime soon. Maybe put in a little more prep work and try to work out some of the pitfalls I had this time around. Maybe I can keep it under 90 losses next time. :)

@Mr Baseball World - In truth, a lot of that trade disagreement was probably me being a little more sensitive than I needed to be. It was a ridiculous trade, though.
