First team ever. Update Final roster after waivers, advice?

Postby MrHacktastic » Sun Nov 27, 2011 9:35 pm

I took the advice and dropped another starter and added a better reliever in Franco. So that is my final roster heading into the season.

I am very confused by some of the rosters in the league right now. I am curious to see how some of these rosters perform and more importantly how my team performs. I think my team is pretty competitive if I can get some decent seasons out of Franco and Worrell. I don't have much power but I have pretty solid OBP through the first 7 guys in more order and average defense most of the way around. I really need a Cy Young season from Clemens.

Can't wait for the season to start tomorrow night.

I lost 2 out of 3 in my opening series. Clemens and Ojeda got kicked around pretty good but Ryan threw a complete game and salvaged the last game of the series. I hit .313-.404-.461 and still lost 2 of the games because I gave up 9 HR's. I need to reorganize how I use my bullpen. My starters will likely go deep into the game when Clemens, Ojeda, or Ryan pitch so I want to use Franco and Worrell as much as possible since they should get plenty of games off.

My very first game was frustrating with HAL. I was down 3 runs in the bottom of the ninth with the bases loaded and two outs and the computer Pinch Hit Fisk for Grich. Other than that I had no issues with anything that happened but that frustrated me. I loaded the bases with two outs and Wade Boggs is on deck down 3. I just need Grich to get on somehow and one of the worst hitters on my team is called upon to pinch hit for a better hitter than he is. I only have one person assigned to pinch hit and he had already pinch hit in the seventh so I am not sure that I have a setting to adjust.

If you don't want guys to pinch hit set them to avoid both right handed and left handed picthers. That is done at the end of the year by most managers that have injury prone players and they want to keep them from getting hurt while batting so they will be healthy for the post season.

That won't keep them from ever batting but will keep them out of the game for the most part.
