The idea I submitted to Bernie was to actually combine the 70's and 80's mystery games and then add all other available cards to 1 giant All-Star mystery game. (basically eliminating the 70's & 80's games.)

I have only played in a few mystery card leagues myself. It seemed to me there aren't a whole lot of people playing in these leagues. I know that's not saying much because there isn't a whole lot of people playing ATG either.

The 80's game is very outdated. And the few times I wanted to do a 70's there just wasn't anyone to fill up a league either.

The idea of a mystery game appeals to me. I like the idea of not knowing exactly which card you have. I think it mixes it up a bit and keeps guys on their toes. Plus, it makes it a little harder for those people who like to "copy" teams.

But, I really do not like having 3 or 4 great cards and a 4th or 5th card that totally blows. I do agree with some of the comments in this thread. Yeah, it would totally s*ck to draft Hugh Duffy and wind up with his .90 card.

As far as drafting guys whose numbers never come close to their cards...Yeah, I never understood that myself. There seems to be a lot of great players with great numbers on their cards...and they never hit or pitch well in SOM regardless of which stadium they play in.
