Laugh all you want, but in 1926 Thevenow -- then with the Cards -- finished fourth in MVP voting with less than stellar offensive stats.

ps Thanks[/quote:25b66a6bf7]

Wow! Thevenow really couldn't hit at ALL. Career OPS+ of 51. When he finished 4th in MVP voting, Thevenow's OPS+ was 59. Must have been a heckuva SS.

Still, Thevenow hit better than Mario Mendoza, who exemplified the eponoymous Mendoza Line with a career OPS+ of 41.

We are blessed with a Mario Mendoza card (.5M, .465 OPS, SS 2e25), so I guess life wouldn't be complete without--someday--a card for the slick-fielding Thevenow. :D

Tony O!

Hey Bernie- How about some love for 1964 Tony Oliva - especially since the vets committe stiffed him again. ROY, batting title, and still one of the great ambassadors of the game - truly a worthy hero!

I have a '74 home run ball that he hit at Met Stadium and he autographed it for me last summer at Target Field. I held that ball for 37 years for that purpose!

Interesting - you don't often see an OF with a change in range of 2 from one corner OF spot to the other.

Happy now old man Frank M?

Now you have to use him on ALL of your teams. With his e10 ratings and your luck in Strat, figure on 25+ errors a season from Irish...

Charlie Keller. 2 in LF, 4 in RF. But you don't see that very often.

Visick, e1, e10 does it matter? Where I am concerned an e0 would make 25 errors for me.

Has there ever in history of strat been someone who got rated 1 and 4 at the corner OF slots?
