Wow! Thevenow really couldn't hit at ALL. Career OPS+ of 51. When he finished 4th in MVP voting, Thevenow's OPS+ was 59. Must have been a heckuva SS.
Still, Thevenow hit better than Mario Mendoza, who exemplified the eponoymous Mendoza Line with a career OPS+ of 41.
We are blessed with a Mario Mendoza card (.5M, .465 OPS, SS 2e25), so I guess life wouldn't be complete without--someday--a card for the slick-fielding Thevenow. :D
