Hey, guys,
Since I picked Garvin late Thursday afternoon, I've been online for about 15 minutes late last night confirming stuff for today and that was it. I tell you, if I had known how crazy busy I ended up being in November and so far in December, I would have not reactivated the SBDL. I have not been fair to you all with my delays. My sincerest apologies.
In a nutshell, since my company had layoffs in March, we've been really busy (partly because business picked back up this summer, partly because of less manpower). That workload, for me, hit a peak this November. It's been the busiest, most stressful time since I joined the company more than four years ago. I've brought work home frequently. Add to it having Ethan (5) and Charlotte (1) in general, but Ethan has swim lessons every Saturday morning and ice skating lessons every Sunday afternoon. Since November 1, Charlotte has had croup, an ear infection, and a cold, and Ethan has had strep throat and a cold, and Shannon had dental surgery (yesterday). I had a cold in there too, but I fought it off by having too much other stuff going on to deal with it. ;)
I'm also still a very active member of the board of directors of the children's center my kids attend. Plus, we've had Charlotte's first birthday, Thanksgiving, two snowstorms (of 10+ inches) already, 3 cord of wood to move and stack, miscellaneous other yard/house chores, and various and sundry other obligations.
And, yes, I play with my kids every chance I get.
Whew! I think this is what burning both ends of a candle is all about.
Anyway, I apologize for my big gaps of disappearing and holding things up.
