Davey Loves Injury Reveal

Since this league has not yet concluded, the seasons for the players haven't been revealed. However, I have Davey Lopes on my roster, and because of the number of homeruns that he's clubbed, I thought I definitely had his 1979 season.

However, DL recently got injured, and the result was a Flyout against a RHP (Reggie Cleveland). Only DL's 1973 and 1977 cards have that injury result. The 1979 card has a Foulout injury against a RHP.

As you can see, DL's performance to date matches up almost perfectly with his 1979 season.

Is it possible that I actually have his 1979 season, and that the injury result was somehow in error? :?

I myself have never run into a situation where there was a mistake in injury reveals. However, if I remember correctly, there have been instances on this boards in the past where folks claim to have run into errors.
Either way, the chance of an error is rare, so I would not count on it.

Injury reveals not withstanding, I have had many instances where I have been surprised at the end of season reveal due to players not performing the way they would be expected based on their revealed card.

I'd say the chances a guy OUTperforms in a season, is [u:7265a20052]slightly better [/u:7265a20052]than having an error on the card.

I actually ended up with DL's 1977 season. He did not hit any more HRs in 27 games after my original post (curse of HAL?), so he cooled off substantially on the HR output. However, in the league, he led all second basemen in number of HRs clubbed (one more than Dick McAuliffe). He was second in RBIs (67) to Paul Popovich's 74. Yes, you read that right. PP had an OPS of 0.838, which led all second basemen. PP had a 0.352 batting average, which was second after George Brett. Not bad for a $0.92 player.
