Need help assigning specialists

My understanding of assigning specialists were to assign a pitcher to that role and let the computer assign the quick hook and avoid L or R batters. I have used this method on my first 27 teams and as soon as I assign a pitcher the computor would check the boxes and place a yellow square around the avoid batter box. This method for some reason has not worked on my last three teams, now when I assign a player the computer does not assign a thing.

Has something changed, or is there another method that works? Sure would like to use specialists again.

I did ask the guys in one league if they were having problems with this and did receive one response from Dugger and he said he wasen't.

It is broke. I just tried assigning LH specialist to Arroyo on a team that waivers today. After assignment and save none of the boxes were checked for him as they have been in the past.

It's been this way for at least a couple of months.

I first noticed this about three months ago. So is the specialist feature working if the computer does not fill in the blocks and highlight the remove against box?

I noticed that also. The checkmarks used to go automatically into quick hook and avoid rightys when you insert a lefty specialist along with your other settings (middle man, setup, tied late, etc.)

Not sure but my hunch is the result is a slower hook version of lefty specialist if you don't also check the boxes above saying quick hook and avoid.

This happened, I think, around the time new cards were added.
