pitchers pinch-hitting

is it possible for a good hitting pitcher to pinch-hit, ala Zambrano :?:

No, not in a DH league.

In a non-DH league I've seen it happen quite a bit. Usually in a really long extra inning game once all your bench players are unavailable.
