2012 Hall of Fame class - who would YOU vote for?

Anyone who doesn't think Tim Raines is a sure-fire hall of famer should have their head examined. And right after that exam, they should read this:

Lee Smith
Raines
Larkin
Mattingly

I'm torn on Bags. And with McGwire, without the 'roids, is he only a slightly upgraded version of Dave Kingman? I know he had a better eye and a slightly better average, but through age 30, Mark was a .250 hitter, .360 OBP, only 238 HRs, and 1 HR every 16 PAs. From that point on, he hit .278, OBP .420, and 1 HR ever 11 PAs. If he had taken a normal career trajectory, would he have HOF stats?

Trammell, Larkin, Raines, Bagwell, Lee Smith for me.

Mattingly - a fine player, but not in the class of other HOF 1B-men.

McGwire - if you're going to be a one-trick pony in MLB, hitting HR's is the one to pick. Walks are nice, but it's a long walk to Cooperstown from almost anywhere. But the 'roids are a killer for me.

At least Mattingly fills out a dress pretty well ...

Raines, Larkin, Mattingly, Morris, Trammell and Murphy -- in that order.

Begrudgingly, bc he is not AS tainted w roids -- Bagwell.
