Coors Field

Coors Field

Postby dalekeener » Thu Dec 22, 2011 5:12 pm

Starting a team in Coors Field...In general is it better to go with low price starters and more r2 and higher priced relievers?

Also, those with experience in Coors..what type of hitter is better, avg, power ...or does it really matter.

Thanks,

Dale

Preferably some hitters that can also play defense. I find the problem usually isn't scoring runs, but preventing them.

1. A catcher that can stop the running game to keep the DP's in order.
2. Good hold ratings on pitchers (see above reason).
3. Most hitters can put up big numbers in Coors on the cheap (Kubel). So look for good defence with hitting, obp, power (AdGONZO) and keep the other team at-bats to a minimum.
4. Don't get frustrated when a high-priced SP puts up a high 3's or mid 4's ERA. Thats still good and has to be given park perspective.
5. At least 2 good RP's that can eat up innings and keep it close for your late inning outburst of runs.
