As to the original question, it is presumably due to the Derek Jeter Leadership and Inspiration Rule. Those of you who bought the cards will find this rule towards the bottom of the 2009 roster sheet.

Also, if you bought this set but did not receive the gift basket with signed Derek Jeter baseball, please contact Strat-O-Matic and let them know.

That is the same rule that has suddenly made Aaron Rodgers the Epiphany of Quarterback play in the National Football League. Before Aaron, NFL quarterbacks worked with flint tools and made fire with two sticks.

P.S. I was the one that 'unmasked' weinberg as cristano1's alter ego. So while my credibility may be low in stratomatic terms, as a sleuth it is irrefutable. :lol: :wink:

The best thing about this whole thread is that, on the thread for BS Semi league 1, weinberg mocked Petro for drafting "Arkney" Vaughan with his first pick. Then here he is trying to con him into drafting Jeter.

Apparently, he doesn't know that Arky is a SS. Or is it that he thinks Petro is so dumb as to spend $23 million on a SS platoon?
