Thinking about Joe Morgan

Thinking about Joe Morgan

Is the 10.26 Joe Morgan worth it in a small ball, $140m situation?

there are better, there are worse. that's about how i feel about that.

he wouldn't be my ideal choice, but i think he works in the lead off spot in just about any park.

do you have alternatives?

Stu I think Morgan is better then most...short of the new Lajoie...He can hit...hit for power ...run and my most important factor...positive clutch

My thought on Morgan is: When will we get his best season?

Thanks, guys.

In all this time, I've never used him.

I'm in the Random Parks theme league and was assigned Rickwood. I suppose I could go with Gehringer, but, you know... Then there's Frisch. I feel like you need a high ballpark single to get the best out of him. Lajoie and Eddie Collins are already taken in my live draft. So, it could very well be Joe.

The day after you pick him in a live draft?

I think to get the best out of Morgan you would need to be in a lefty hitting park and at a high cap 140 or 200 to justify his overpriced card. At 100 or 80 he's just too expensive relative to what you get for other 10m cards. There are other options for a small ball atmosphere-the walks are nice but in small ball Id rather have the singles* and doubles* over the walks (I'd take the expensive Collins, Alomar, Lajoie over Morgan). The OBP and defense are attractive and he'll get 20-25 hrs in a lefty park which would make Morgan a decent card in 140 but only in a lefty or Polo 41 type park

I put the request in for that card in the last go round-
off the top of my head think it was 76?

The only bummer about him in 76 is that he does not have 600 pa's. If his price was dropped some hs 75 season would be pretty popular.

I'm intrigued by Alomar but I never see any of those cards do well and the numbers on Diamond Dope actuals support this. I don't get it... why are those $9+m cards?
