Sometimes the number of cards has to do with the relative lameness
of the previously introduced cards. It started when there was just
one card per player and cards got swapped in for lesser years in
existance (Killebrew, Carew were two examples).
When the first card out was one the players best years to begin
with, you don't see multiple years.
But even in those cases, the addition of cards is kind of hapzard, so
one explanation doesn't explain it all... if you want to see a specific
card, scroll down, find the thread where Bernie is requesting new
additions and add your voice to the crowd.
