[quote:11be2cc3cf]I would allow a coach and parents who are spending their time to be with their children in a very demanding activity the freedom to express themselves as long as their actual conduct is proper. [/quote:11be2cc3cf]
Wow..I wish I was smarter and more patient...That statement above is so full of assumptions and in contradiction with some of your others, I'm not sure I could do any justice in answering it...And I ain't trying to be sarcastic or mean spirited I'm just surprised this is coming from you Charlie
Sure a tee shirt will be very less likely to lead to any negative anything to children with two loving attentive responsible parents and good caring coaches....because the children would know better...not because the tee shirt didn't evoke some kind of emotion, good, bad or indifferent, because if it didn't evoke some type of feeling (which sometimes leads to action) we wouldn't spend billions of dollars on slogans to put on tee shirts...But not every child is so well nurtured and cared for...
If it's a very demanding activity why the broad brush of no athletic ego on these 5 ft.6 120 lb kids.
"Freedom" and "actual conduct is proper" just seem to be in contradiction no? Who's to determine proper conduct in our "free to be" world?
I'm not arguing whether its within our rights, it is...And not suggesting that some law gets passed to outlaw this...I'm hoping against hope that the parents realize its just not needed.

Violence is not all-pervasive in today's society. Ironically enough yesterday both Chicago and New York released their 2011 murder rates and they both are down almost 70% from their peaks of 20 years ago. Here is a link to New York City crime rates:
http://www.disastercenter.com/crime/nycrime.htm The truth of the matter is that as violent video games have gotten more popular violent crimes have receded.

And I beat my wife less now than 20 years ago....I'm just kidding....I beat her the same...no of course just kidding but really..
Statistics are useful at times and leaves you blind at other times....Murder is down, so whatever whatever......"Murder" is down lmao "MURDER" the fact that its down over the last 20 years is what you want to hang your hat on? Really? BTW I know 20 years ago [b:11be2cc3cf]children Murdered other children for a pair of Nike's that had a certain slogan/symbol that they just had to have.[/b:11be2cc3cf]
