I think that was only for the initial draft that started the league. Even the supplemental drafts have been reverse order of the previous seasons standings

That wouldn't make sense in context to how the rule is written. It's a basketball-style lottery to - in part - discourage tanking to get a higher draft pick.

Check out last year's draft order and the thread on [url=http://forums.sportingnews.com/viewtopic.php?t=567220&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=500#comments]this page[/url]. Definitely not just reverse order. The top three slots are lottery.

Just read the rule again and the supplemental should also be run this way which I don't like, but not worth a vote to change. Sorry I missed that for this last supplemental draft.

Ok so it looks like the lottery is just for the first 3 picks in the first round but then after that it goes back to cumulative record.

This is correct per the rules. It also says to run it the day after the season ends. I went back in my leagues and did it retroactive to that day, whatever it was, so it was not a randomly picked day. You can look it up at lotteryusa.com

Thanks Turtle. I still don't see where it says it needs to be the day after, but I'm happy to do it as such.

How have you seen it work when we have three different drafts to do lottos for? Consecutive days after the season end? Different states?

Had a little free time on my hands tonight (kids went ot bed early) and since all the trade talk died down it seems in the leagues I'm in, I started looking at propsects.

I looked at a top 100 list for 2012 from Frank Piliere. I cross referenced it with our FKKL rosters taking out guys who people have (ie Harper) and then created the list based on his rankings. There may be some errors if I listed someone you have I apologize I will delete them. This is obviously not the only list people can use to draft just thought it may help.

There are some things to point out on the list. Randall Delgado has 35 IP's, but has very good #'s, so I'm not sure if he will get a card or not therefore he may not be in the prospect draft so I added a 41st player.

Also Yu Darvish would also technically be a prospect if he signs with the Rangers so I added him at the end.

Guys like Leonys Martin and Addison Reed did see some time in the big leagues but not enough to get a card. Based on the rules we have used previously in this league they will be able to be drafted as prospects as they have never received a card.

I'm sure there will be other rankings out before the draft but its just a guide.

On another note, I see how the draft is supposed to work. FA order is derived from cumulative records of last season, Prospect is from the second of the two seasons. Both drafts are determined by the lotto numbers on consecutive days after season's end.

My apologies to all owners, but I ran the initial FA draft early. The season ended on September 13. The FA Draft should be run on 9/14 and Prospect 9/15. I'll run and post them both. Please disregard the previously posted FA draft.

I'm going to call for a vote for next season to change the rules and make the prospect draft similar to the FA draft. This change does not affect the lottery.

Rule Change:

Prospect Draft
3) The initial prospect draft is serpentine. Draft order for the initial Prospect draft will be the reverse of the draft order for the Initial Free Agent draft and is serpentine. All subsequent prospect drafts are determined by cumulative win/loss records of the two seasons of the previous year's card set. Reverse order, worst-record first, NFL style.
