Geez, we can't even get this league going and we're already talking about another?
For what it's worth, I've been thinking about starting a '50s-'60s theme league called "When It Was Just A Game". The rules would be a little different than those of our '80s league:
12 teams, ATG6, $100 mil cap, no DH (there was no such thing back then)
10% waivers
Unique stadiums
16 round Diamond Dope draft, with 1 round used to pick a stadium.
Eligibility: ANY CARD based on a major league baseball season for any player who played major league baseball (no matter how briefly) in the 1950s or 1960s.
Player eligibility examples: Ted Williams & Joe Dimaggio are both eligible, since they played in the 1950s.
Ceasar Geronimo and Bill Buckner would both be eligible since they had a "cup of coffee" in the bigs in 1969.
Bucky Walters and Eddie Miller are both eligible, since they played their final MLB game in 1950
Satchel Paige's 1948 card is eligible, since he played in the Majors in the 1950s and 1960s, but his NeL card is NOT eligible since it isn't based on a major league baseball season.
Let me know if you think this is a viable concept and I'll consider starting such a league when this league begins to wind down.
