Irrelevance Strikes Back

[quote:7d4b402359]all petro had to do is copy my teams, and he would be sitting in the top 9 as well. he always joined the late league in all events, so he was in the perfect position to copy my team for each event. it is the main reason i changed my name from cristano1 to weinberg. back with 2007 and 2008, where players are really scare, and the mispricing was wayyyy worst than it currently is, copying teams was a dagger. so i had to change my name to protect my intellectual capital. now, with atg 6, its irrelevant. there are so many good players what i frequently do is draft an entire team post waivers. im still playing 580 ball doing that. anyway, id love to debate more with petro, but im going to wait for him to become relevant first. but if petro makes the finals, then i am open to discussing things with him. he just has to earn it first. as of now, petro is like the penngrey of a few years ago. penngray used to be great many years back, but then people like me came along, and he became a mediocre GM. he still talked like he was elite, but it was clear his talents had eroded. petro= penngray. i respect petro as a great GM. just not anymore. My dear friend Weinberg posted this on Dec 11, 2011. Since then I have joined every league where I see his name.

Here's my teams and Weinberg's from each of those leagues.

Which brings me to the point of this post. Weinberg has started a new league "Ding Dong."

So far he is the only team in it. I'll be jumping in shortly.

Come join us and enjoy the carnage!

To be honest:

I dont know this person at all, dont think Ive ever played in a league together, however:

Id be much more impressed with a persons claims if they ever competed in Live leagues...if anyone can compile a .580 winning pct. there- Ill consider em amongst the best.
Until then, I think Ill have to use my own judgement on which managers I respect (not that winning pct would be my criteria in any case).

He was .590 in atg VI when he posted, not the .580 he cited.

Now, 3 weeks and change later, he's at .574 and dropping fast.

I see a reference to penngrey above. I for one miss penngrey. When i first started playing strat and trying to build competitive teams you could go to the old boards and ask for help. Well guys like penngrey,rob55 and moose used to take time and help you with understanding team building technics. Always grateful . But i also miss the pictures that used to be with our profiles.

I get that on the boards now. And through PMs. I have had a lot of help with my teams and my understanding. Petro in particular has been helpful and has given me advice each and every time I've asked him.

I'm not good yet, but I'm holding my own for the most part, in no small part due to his help.
