Team starts out 18-36 Wow!

Definitely too early to panic, you should wait until 2 weeks 36-42 games to make any drastic moves while the transaction cost is only 5%.

You've scored the fewest runs, and only two teams have allowed more runs. Something's not working. Also, the other 3 teams in our division have winning records on the road. That probably won't continue, but if it does, conventional wisdom says you're doomed.

Yeah, don't panic yet. I'm in a league right now where I started off 13-2 and then lost the next 10 in a row.

That's the thing about these leagues, there are no moves to be made. I am standing pat.

Early results can be misleading... a -39 run differential (almost
-3 per game) is pretty awful. But sometimes its just bad luck,
maybe not all of it, but some of it.

One area where you can see the bad luck is in the errors and
the unearned runs. Your team is giving up more than 10% of its
runs as unearned runs. It also has 10 OF errors after just
15 games, on pace for over 100 (not going to happen, just
emphasizing how bad your error rolls have been this early).
So bad luck on errors is just adding gasoline to your fire, but
that area of bad luck will turn for the better probably immediately.

Thanks for the thoughtful replies. I understand the sample size is way too small. Nothing to do but hope my luck turns around. I still like the team. Maybe people will see how poorly I am doing and avoid the players I like.

With this player pool, you can put together a team that looks awesome, with 5-6 HOFers on offense and 2-3 SP studs. But then, you take a look at the other 11 teams, and they look great too. Parity goes around and comes back around again.......Pete Rozelle would like ATG6

You make a good point, the salary cap helps with the parity too.

You obviously don't match up well vs. Bayshore Area Training Side, lost all nine to them, and you have losing records vs. the other two teams in our division. You've allowed 81 runs to Bayshore Area Training Side, an average of nine per game. Your problems begin and end right there.

You've been a consistent support to me on my more controversial posts, so now it's payback time --purely in a positive sense!

My own personal small ball style is largely based on batting avg. and speed. I know the avg. is generally an overrated stat but it seems to me that doesn't apply so much to small ball.

First your park choice. I think Forbes 57, 54 and 65 are the best places to play small ball. Just maximizes your strengths and weakens power teams to the max. My completed teams average around .563 in these parks.

Emphasizing your strengths is more important than worrying about your weaknesses. So I don't waste a dime on guys like Kiner who are well worth their price in bomber parks but who aren't worth much at all in your park. Kiner's performance to date for you is a perfect example of why I shy away from him in small ball. Many of my most successful small ball teams are last in hrs. in the league. Lucky to hit 70 for the whole team.

Hitting, especially guys who have good extra base power is critical. OBP is important to me but only in the first and second slots in the order. After that it's hitting. Speed on the basepaths is critical, stolen bases are important but only in the sense that they get your runners held on.

I gotta get to work now so I'll have to be brief.

Kiner was a mistake imho. I would have gotten the cheaper Simmons to catch and platooned him. Don't like 2's at SS in small ball. Sisler is a good example of a guy to hit 3rd to 5th on your team, so I do like him for you. Collins is fine at 2B. Don't like J.R. at 3rd. Gwynn's okay but prefer Suzuki if you can get him. Don't like your staff that much, but Radatz isn't getting near enough work. PM me for help tweaking your team settings.

Petrosian I appreciate all your help and I will take all your advice. However at this point I think my team is experiencing bad luck as much as anything else.

My only other team, a small ball team in an 80 million dollar DH league is doing a little bit better. Here they are:
