Resting relievers

How many days in a row can a reliever pitch? Does it matter if they are R1, R2, R3...etc.? I assume it does.

A reliever can pitch two or three days in a row, depending on how many pitches they throw. It absolutely matters what their R-rating is. A pitcher who is an R3 or R4 can pitch a hell of a lot more innings per series/week/season than a pitcher with an R1. Beyond that it gets real complicated.
