I may be way off here but I'm pretty sure the prospect draft is already the same as the FA draft and is the cumulative of both seasons. In the rules it's plural, "previous seasons records". We could look back at previous drafts and find out but again I think for both the FA draft and prospect draft it is cumulative records of both previous seasons and then the lottery for just the top 3 spots. I'll go along with whatever but I think the change you propose (which I agree with) is already in place.
Or I could be making an idiot of myself because I'm reading it wrong and don't remember exactly how it was done in the past. :oops:
Regardless I agree with your decision 100% to want to change it to both seasons. Doesn't change too much for me, I don't have any picks til the end.

Part of the problem is that we didn't know what Litangel meant last year either and just used his draft order without understanding exactly how it was derived. I'm taking my interpretation from his board postings and from the rules as written.
I'm certainly not wedded to doing it that way, but that's how I interpret the intent of the rules.

We could just bag the whole lottery thing, unless you all really feel that this is an issue. This is the only keeper league I'm in that uses the lottery, makes things much more complicated for very little gain IMHO.

I've seen it used in this league and in one other -- both setup by the same manager.
Seems a confusing waste of time to me.

I think eliminating the lottery makes sense. Even if someone were to tank in order to get a better spot, I can't say that I'd care all that much. The lottery just adds an extra level of confusion (and work!). Here's what I propose, and if there are no further suggestions I'll write it up for a formal vote:
Free Agent Draft: Worst to first, non-serpentine, based off of cumulative record of previous year's seasons (e.g., seasons 1 & 2 for 2011). No clock in the first round, three hour clock for all other rounds. To be held on an announced date soon after the release of SOMO's cards for the new season.
Prospect Draft: Worst to first, non-serpentine, based off of cumulative record of previous year's seasons (e.g., seasons 1 & 2 for 2011). No clock in the first round, three hour clock for all other rounds. To be held directly after the spring free agent draft.
Supplemental Draft: Worst to first, non-serpentine, based off of cumulative record of previous season (e.g., seasons 1 of 2011). No clock in the first round, three hour clock for all other rounds. To be held on an announced date soon after the conclusion of season one and prior to the start of season two.
