Wow, Your ARod is rocking.
I am in Wrigley '57
I am using the 10.63 version
For a RH hitter, SI is 1-8, HR is 1-12
Thru 57 games
206 AB .155 AVG .236 OBP .286 SLG 8 HR and 16 RBI

I think the game system isn't giving him a fair shake

Well, you set the WayBack Machine back to Chicago in 1957 and there were no steroids back then, so his performance is perfectly understandable. ;)

A ROD AND OTHERS

Postby 1787 » Sat Jan 14, 2012 12:54 pm

Why bother giving them a card if the results never match unless playing in fenway 67, I have yet to hear from somene that had a positive result with
Alex and a few others from his era. But the cheater Bonds his 80 hr in his sleep. I would like to see his card tossed completly or priced at 20m. Its a joke.

His card is actually similar to Bonds's card in that it's all HR and BB -- very few lesser hits. So if you don't happen to get the HR rolls, you don't get much else offensively. Without the home runs, he would have hit .236 that year.

I got this line from him in Hilltop, 100M league

Rodriguez, Alex (2005) R 3B 1e12 663 140 188 23 1 46 108 92 179 13 7 3 .[b:99d1ef1284]284 .390 .529[/b:99d1ef1284] 2R 10.33M

I think you get the best value for him at SS - how many SS's in the card set can match those numbers? Wagner, Banks, Ripken maybe? - it comes down to league context and luck if a card will match or exceed its numbers - his card has the same problem that many cards in the set have, too many walks on the high pct. rolls (6,7,8) where there should be a few more hit chances

at those high caps, hitting card numbers will get depressed cause they are going vs 9-10 million pitchers every game. The numbers of his card reflect what he did against pitchers in the season represented, so his numbers were attained vs scrub pitchers like Bruce Chens, Mark Guthries and AJ Burnett's - not against Koufax, Walter Johnson and Greg Maddux

Here is my break down thru 229 plate appearances
103 rolls on his card, 126 from the Pitcher
17 hits from his card and 15 from the pitcher
the rolls of 2-5 and 3-5 are hits. They have been rolled 4 times.
The rolls of 1-5, 4-5, 5-5, and 6-5 have been rolled 22 times

the rolls of 2-6 and 3-6 are hits, #HR or a SI split. They have been rolled 10 times. 1-6, 4-6, 5-6, and 6-6 have been rolled 31 times.

2-7 is a walk. Only been rolled twice
2-10 is a walk(L) or a SI*(R). Been rolled zero times

Either Hal hates him too, or he has an unlucky card. I can never get Gehrig to hit either, but never this bad. A .155 avg is a joke.

My other experience with AROD netted 37 HR in Coors using the 10.33 card.
Perhaps I will trade some range for that card in my current league. The 1 range is nice, but not if he slugs less than Ozzie.
